Juneau Family Birth Center

COVID 19 Policy & Resources

Juneau Family Birth Center is following all state guidelines to protect the safety of our families and staff, including:

Universal Screening

Anyone entering the building will be screened.

Universal Precautions

Masks are required at all times. We practice social distancing when possible. All staff ensure personal hygiene and remain home when sick.

Increased Sanitation

We disinfect surfaces between visits and have increased sanitation of our building and high touch surfaces.

Telehealth Visits

For families who wish to limit exposure and not leave their home, we offer telehealth (virtual video conference with your midwife) for many of our visits

Labor Care

Clients are welcome to have a partner and additional support people with them in labor. We encourage families to limit their support team to essential people only. If either the client or support person(s) have any COVID-19 symptoms they will be transferred to the hospital. The laboring person will not be required to wear a mask after COVID-19 symptom screening.

Visitors

Partners are still welcome during in-person prenatal and postpartum clinic visits. Please leave siblings at home if possible. Limit visitors to the birth center after the birth, please introduce the new baby to other family members once you arrive home.
