Susan Jabal Program Director Born and raised in Wisconsin, upon adulthood I moved to the Twin Cities in Minnesota to attend University, where I double majored in Graphic Design and Women’s Studies. After graduation, I travelled up to Alaska on a last adventure before starting ‘real’ life, and fell in love with Skagway, where I landed due to major car trouble. I lived there for 13 years, managing various local businesses until I opened my own, an espresso café, which I ran for 7 years. I enjoyed my time in this small community, and met and married my husband, Steve, on a beach there. Upon selling the café and discovering we were pregnant, we decided to move to Juneau. We chose the Juneau Family Health and Birth Center for our pregnancy and birth, and I was invited to join the team during one of my prenatal visits. I am very excited to be utilizing my management and organizational skills in a non-profit environment for an organization that I believe in. My family and I have prioritized travel and adventure in our lives, and are believers in giving back to the world. We have done various volunteer work throughout our history and our travels, and are now excited to bring this philanthropy into our work as well. | |
