Meet the Staff

Our Midwives:

CDM - A certified direct entry midwife. She is trained to provide the Midwifery Model of Care to healthy women and newborns throughout the childbearing cycle, primarily in out-of-hospital settings.

CNM - A certified nurse midwife. She is trained with a nursing background to apply the Midwifery Model of Care to health women and newborns throughout the childbearing cycle. She also is able to write prescriptions and does Well-Woman Care.

Our Doula:

Doula, a word from the Greek, signifies a woman dedicated to nurturing and supporting new mothers and families. Contemporary doulas combine traditional wisdom with current practical information and hands-on guidance to provide education, support, and non-medical care. Most importantly, doulas meet the individual needs of each mother, baby, and family in the security of their own environment.

Our Family Practice Staff:

Our Massage Therapists:

Our Massage Therapists are certified in prenatal, therapeutic, relaxation, and infant massage.

Our Office Staff:

As a non profit center working for families in Juneau and Southeast Alaska, we need several people to work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly and help coordinate the many programs we facilitate.

Our Board of Directors:

The Juneau Family Birth Center is a non profit corporation. As such, we are run by a board of directors. Board members are volunteers from the community who are elected by our members at our annual meeting.
