Rob Haight, MD
Family Practice Physician
I have been a lot of places and Juneau-ites are the friendliest, most energetic and resourceful people I've met. The occasional gloomy weather aside, I feel blessed to be back in my hometown where all of my immediate family still live.
After graduating from JDHS in 1986, I attended the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, University of New Mexico, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. Following my three year residency in family medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, I spent 2 years at Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Barrow. I then worked at Juneau Urgent Care for over four years where I was privileged to meet many Juneau-ites and other folks from nearby communities.
One of the reasons I relocated to the Juneau Family Health and Birth Center in 2005 was to allow more time with each patient. We schedule 60 minutes for new patients in order to really get to know each person without being rushed. Working closely with midwives fosters a more holistic approach to medicine that sometimes gets missed in more traditional settings.
My wife Victoria is a massage therapist, and we have two daughters: Samantha and Ruchi.
