Meet the Staff Midwives
CDM - Certified Direct-Entry Midwife - educated in the discipline of midwifery through self-study, apprenticeship, and a midwifery school or university-based program which is distinct from the discipline of nursing. She is trained to provide the Midwifery Model of Care to healthy women and newborns throughout the childbearing cycle, primarily in out-of-hospital settings. CPM - Certified Professional Midwife - a knowledgeable, skilled and professional certified direct-entry midwife who has met the additional standards set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). CNM - Certified Nurse-Midwife - Nurse-Midwives in the United States are also Nurse Practitioners. They are trained with a nursing background to apply the Midwifery Model of Care to healthy women and newborns throughout the childbearing cycle. They also provide primary care to women, well woman care, family planning, menopause care, and prescriptions. ANP - Adult Nurse Practicioner - a registered nurse who has completed specific advanced education and training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as a few complex medical conditions. Nurse Practitioners provide a broad range of healthcare services. ANP's can serve as a patient's "point of entry" health care provider, and see patients of all ages depending on their designated scope of practice. Doulas

Office Staff As a non profit center working for families in Juneau and Southeast Alaska, we need several people to work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly and help coordinate the many programs we facilitate.
